Let’s face it – balancing life and work is hard, no matter who you are and what you do. Having a career on MyGirlFund while maintaining a healthy life outside of the site is difficult.

What is the balance between work and life? According to Wikipedia, “work–life balance is a concept including proper prioritizing between ‘work’ (career and ambition) and ‘lifestyle’ (health, pleasure, leisure, family and spiritual development/meditation).”

When you are able to balance your work on here with your life outside, you are able to maintain a constant peak productivity level and prevent burnout. This will lead to less stress, more money, and an all-around better sense of being.

Here are some tips on how to create the perfect balance:

Set a schedule

Seriously! Set a schedule. Decide exactly what hours you’re going to work and be sure to schedule in breaks. It is also essential to schedule time for yourself and family. Stick to your schedule. It can be hard on mygirlfund because of the different schedules of your customers, but it will make your life so much easier in the long run if you have enough time to sleep, hang out with family and friends, and relax.

Turn off your cell phone and other distractions when working

Distractions can prevent you from putting your all into the site. During your scheduled work time, be sure to turn everything off so that you can fully focus on what you’re doing. This will save you a bunch of time in the long run, which means more time for life outside of the site.

Turn off mygirlfund when you’re spending time for yourself or with family/friends

It can be tempting to quickly check your messages while taking a bubble bath, or laying in bed before falling asleep, or at the family picnic, but don’t do it. You need to take time to relax and be with family or friends and have no work-related distractions. Sure, you might make a few bucks quickly checking, but you will wear yourself out in the long-run. Let me repeat this: you need down time from the site or you will burn out.

Reward yourself

Did you stick to your schedule? Did you meet your financial goals? Did you get all of your customs for the week done? Did you give 100% of yourself to work while working, and 100% of yourself to family/friends/yourself during your off-work time? Reward yourself! You deserve it!

Honestly, what it all comes down to is prioritizing everything in your life. The easiest thing to do is make a list of what you want to do each week and then make your schedule around that. Think about the time you want to dedicate following things:

  • Work
  • Sleep
  • Family
  • Friends
  • Working out
  • Relaxing
  • Hobbies

How much time should you be spending on each thing? Answer that question and start to make your schedule!

Here is a sample schedule for a week day. Remember that everyone is different. This is just an example. Your schedule should suit your and your family’s needs.

8:00-9:00 A.M. – Breakfast, personal hygiene routine

9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. – Respond to messages on MGF, reach out to new customers, etc.

12:00-12:30 P.M. – Lunch, check your phone, etc.

12:30-3:30 P.M. – Create custom requests, make new videos, respond to more messages

3:30-4:00 P.M. – Snack time, relax with a book, take a nap, check your phone, workout, etc.

4:00-6:00 P.M. – Respond to messages, write a blog post, make a contest, reach out to new customers, etc.

6:00-8:00 P.M. – Turn off your computer, make and eat dinner, spend time with your family or friends

8:00-8:30 P.M. – Quickly check MGF and respond to messages, then turn your computer back off

8:30-9:30 P.M. – Relax with a bubble bath, watch a show, read a book, etc.

9:30-10:00 P.M. – Prepare for bed

10:00 P.M. – 8:00 A.M. – Sleep

Like I said above, this is just an example of a potential schedule. Your schedule should fit your and your family’s needs. It will look vastly different if you have young children in the house, work another job, etc.

Remember: the most important way to balance your work and personal life so that you don’t burn out is to schedule everything – family, friends, work time, eating, relaxing time, time to work out, time for hobbies, etc.

Get out there and make your schedule, girl! You got this.
